Having arrived back on Orkney on the 23rd July to a wonderful sunny day, I decided to take advantage of the weather and headed out to the shores of the Loch of Stenness to photograph wildflowers. It was very peaceful and I spent a lot of time just basking in the sun, watching common blue butterflies flitting around.

I spent a lot of time photographing into the sun which I seem to be doing more and more as I like the back lit flowers and the dream-like quality to the images.
